Wound so the coiler can take it off the package without rewinding.
Package types
| Package | How it is wound | Matched to |
|---|---|---|
| Traverse-wound spool | Even layer across the barrel | High-speed coilers that pull from the side |
| Layer-wound spool | Precise layer, controlled cast | Machines that need a repeatable pay-off |
| Coil | Bulk, banded | Where the customer rewinds before coiling |
| Cut length | Straightened and cut | Straight legs and pins, not coiled springs |
Coil weight
Weight is set to the machine, not picked from a list. A coil that is too heavy will not mount; one that is too light means a changeover in the middle of a run. Tell us the weight your coiler takes and the length of the run, and the package is built to that.
Finish
| Bright | Clean surface for coiling and for a subsequent coating |
| Coated | A lubricant or temporary protective layer where the coiler needs it |
| Annealed | For the coil-then-age route |
What is on the tag
