Sizes and tolerances
0.10 to 12 mm, in the temper the coiling operation needs.

Temper
| Annealed | For coiling followed by ageing |
| Spring temper | Cold worked; holds load without further ageing |
| As drawn | Where the customer’s own process sets the final condition |
Diameter and temper are decided together. A spring-temper wire will not take a bend radius that an annealed one takes, and an annealed one will not hold the load a spring-temper one holds.
